Safety
Stay safe and report suspicious activity
Pause on unusual requests, verify identities independently, protect credentials and money, and report credible concerns.
Remote hiring can attract impersonation, payment fraud, fake jobs, data theft, and account takeover attempts. A profile or listing on a platform is not a guarantee that every claim is true. Employers and talent should verify one another, keep the early process job-related, and stop when a request creates unnecessary financial or security risk.
High-risk warning signs

Keep early conversations in the platform so there is a clear record if something needs to be reported.
Pause and investigate if someone asks you to:
- Pay a fee, deposit, training charge, or equipment payment to get a job
- Receive, deposit, transfer, or forward money, checks, cryptocurrency, or gift cards
- Share an email code, password, banking credential, wallet phrase, or one-time password
- Install remote-access software or disable device security without a legitimate controlled reason
- Open an unexpected file or sign in through an unfamiliar domain
- Provide government ID, tax, or bank information before identity and hiring purpose are established
- Complete extensive unpaid production work that creates real business value
- Move immediately to an anonymous account while refusing to identify the company, role, or candidate
- Act urgently because an offer or payment will disappear within minutes
Unusual does not always mean fraudulent, but urgency is never a reason to skip verification.
Verify an employer or job
Compare the company name, website domain, recruiter email, public staff profiles, job description, and interview process. Search the company independently rather than using only links sent in a message. Ask who manages the role, how compensation works, and what the next stage requires. A legitimate employer should be able to explain the work without asking the applicant to finance it.
RemoteFilipino may limit some company information in talent-facing views until the appropriate connection exists. That does not prevent you from asking reasonable questions or reporting a listing that appears deceptive.
Verify talent and protect candidate data
Employers should compare profile and résumé details, conduct structured interviews, and verify role-relevant claims through lawful checks. Do not treat an unlock or platform profile as a complete identity or background verification. Use candidate contact data only for legitimate hiring, limit access internally, and delete unnecessary exports.
Never pressure candidates to expose unrelated identity, family, medical, financial, or protected personal information. Use secure systems for documents genuinely required after an appropriate stage.
Protect your RemoteFilipino account
Use an email account with strong security. Never share a sign-in code. Open RemoteFilipino through a known bookmark or typed address and check the domain before authenticating or paying. Staff do not need your password, full card number, or remote device access to investigate an ordinary support case.
If you entered credentials on a suspicious page, secure the email account first, end unknown sessions, change reused passwords elsewhere, and contact support. If money or banking information is involved, notify the bank or payment provider immediately.
Report a concern
Stop the risky interaction and preserve the listing or profile URL, sender name and contact, message text, date and time, payment instructions, and screenshots. Email [email protected] with Safety report in the subject. Redact unrelated identity and financial data. Do not continue engaging solely to gather more evidence.
Support can investigate platform activity and restrict accounts where appropriate, but may not be able to recover funds sent outside the platform. Report financial fraud to the payment provider and relevant authorities. Immediate physical threats should be directed to local emergency services.
If you are unsure rather than certain
Ask support to verify the platform account or workflow before paying, installing software, or sharing sensitive information. Explain exactly what was requested and by whom. Continue applying or hiring elsewhere while the concern is reviewed.
